Sensory Concerts®
“Everyone deserves access to high-quality classical music, no matter their age, abilities or background.” ~ Grace Kim
As a classical musician and mother of two, Grace has always known the value of making music a part of children’s lives and the crucial role it plays in brain development. But when her oldest child struggled in live music settings, she saw a need to bridge the gap between comfortable performance environments and neurodiverse audiences.
And so, Sensory Concerts was born.
Launched in 2017, Sensory Concerts® is a series of high-quality classical concerts for neurodiverse audiences, directed by Grace Kim.
An internationally respected concert pianist and leading music educator, Grace and her colleagues perform to small audiences in relaxed spaces, giving children and adults the opportunity to hear and see quality live music without feeling overwhelmed.
With flexible seatings, retreat option and on-site therapist support, Sensory Concerts make it easy for people to self-regulate.
“We really don’t mind if people need to move around, lie on a crash mat or take time out from everyone else for a while,’’ says Grace. “I program the music especially with this in mind so that everyone can engage and benefit without feeling overwhelmed or restricted.’’
The music is programmed to stimulate, engage, and calm the senses. Whether it’s a sensitivity to crowds, noise, light, smell and/or touch, audience members’ needs are taken into account, creating a safe and accepting place to enjoy live classical music.

Noah’s Story
“Noah's story is endearing and insightful and can help explain autism to young children, both NT and ASD”. Prof. Tony Attwood
How does a neurodivergent child experience everyday life? How does it feel to be different?
Children’s book Noah’s Story answers those questions and more, and gives neurodivergent children a tool with which to explain how they feel.
Australian author Grace Kim wrote the book to help her son Noah, his friends and teachers understand his autism diagnosis in 2016 after a long period of challenging experiences at school.
Noah illustrated the book.
Written in Noah’s “voice”, it uses examples of behaviours a person whose brain works differently and offers practical suggestions for how others can respond.
Endorsing the book, author Teena Raffa-Mulligan said Noah’s Story “presents the message ‘Sometimes I will make mistakes but I am learning just like you’ with beautiful simplicity”.
Noah’s Story is available globally at your preferred online book retailers, or please contact Grace for Australian orders.

“I often wish there was simple material that would explain some of his struggles. It is a beautiful book and great for understanding more about life from Noah’s point of view!
Josh

"Noah’s story is a great book it can help other kids understand how an Asperger’s brain works. Like Noah, I used to find parties confusing too!"
Carlos Mum
A thank you!
“His teacher read it to the class and Carlos has already commented that his friends seem to understand him better. Thank you for putting into words what so many of our kids couldn’t."
